Nike Jr. Golf Camp programs offer choice of Torrey Pines or Pebble Beach

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. -- As two of the most famed courses in the country, Pebble Beach and Torrey Pines, either destination could be viewed as an ideal location for aspiring junior golfers to improve their game and experience the thrill of playing where the pros play.

Each dream golf destination - will be the location of Nike Jr. Golf Camp programs this summer. The Pebble Beach location offers juniors the opportunity to play The Links at Spanish Bay, Spyglass, and Poppy Hills and learn from some of the top junior golf instructors in the country. With golf instruction veteran Rich Marik as the teaching pro, Nike campers are bound to improve their game. As a Class A PGA pro, Marik’s golf career includes a #1 junior golfer ranking in 1982 by Golf Magazine, team captain of the Stanford University Golf Team, and winner of the US Junior Amateur Championship in 1982. Marik has been the national instruction editor of Junior Golf Magazine, featured on the Golf Channel’s Golf Academy Live and as taught hundreds of junior, collegiate, and professional players.

At Torrey Pines, juniors will compete on the same course which Tiger and Mickelson helped make famous with the junior golf segment. Mike Wydra, who is now in his 29th year of coaching at the University of California at San Diego, is slated to be at the camp’s helm. Over the course of his instructional career, Wydra’s programs have produced over 30 professionals and 54 All-Americans, and numerous NCAA titles and honors.

Each Nike Jr. Golf camp includes accommodations and 24-hour supervision and is inclusive (overnight programs).

There are 100+ Nike Jr. Camp locations across the country, which offer various programs including overnight, day camp, and parent-child programs. Additionally, Advanced Player programs are available at select locations and are designed to help the aspiring collegiate player prepare and groom for golf at a competitive college level. The Nike Golf Schools & Jr. Camps were also recently named one of Golf Magazine’s “Top 4 for Jr. Golf Instruction”.
