VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- HorsePower Sports Marketing (HSM), the sanctioning body orchestrating the HorsePower Tee Shot Tour (HTST), proudly announces the recent addition of two staff members to the HSM team. Effective immediately, Lisa K. Lucas and James (Jim) S. Lucas II will come on board as Director of Operations and Event Manager, respectively.
As Director of Operations, Ms. Lucas will maintain responsibility for the day-to-day management of HSM and HTST functions, including sponsorship procurement, media relations, contract management, information systems, policies and procedures, program production, finance and insurance. In addition to her new position at HSM, she is also the Chief Operating Officer of JTM Development Corporation, which she joined in 2003. Prior to that, Ms. Lucas spent nearly twenty years with two Fortune 500 companies where she held management positions in such fields as commercial real estate finance, automotive manufacturing and quality control. She graduated from Duquesne University with a B.A. in Economics and earned her M.B.A. in Finance and Strategic Planning from The University of Pittsburgh’s Katz Graduate School of Business.
As Event Manager, Mr. Lucas will handle the planning and execution of all HTST events, including host site relations, contract negotiations for event services, equipment management, signage, vendor management, personnel management and site set-up. During his twenty-two year career, Mr. Lucas has held positions in various fields, including corporate fitness management, facility design, ergonomics, personal training, and NCAA Division 1 strength and conditioning. He is certified as a Professional Financial Planner (PFP), and prior to joining HSM, worked as an independent business insurance broker. Mr. Lucas’ proficiency in such computer technology as database design, Web-based programming, and AutoCAD, will be an asset to the organization and this position. Mr. Lucas graduated with a B.S in Sports Medicine, as well as completed his graduate course work in Health & Physical Education (ABT), at Radford University.

The HTST is a series of six Power Golf events featuring NASCAR personalities teaming with eight of the most prolific drivers of the golf ball in the world. These events will be held during Sprint Cup race weeks and will be broadcast on SPEED TV in the summer and fall of 2008.
