Brian Gay captures first PGA victory wearing Kaenon Polarized

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. -- Taking home his first-ever PGA victory this weekend, Kaenon Polarized golfer Brian Gay not only locked up a No.1 finish at the Mayakoba Golf Classic, but by finishing at 16-under-par also set a new tournament record.

Marking his first career win in 293 PGA starts, Gay wore Kaenon’s Variant V7 with a Copper 12 lens for its technical advantage while reading the greens. Gay made a remarkable 30-foot putt to save par on No.16 and seal the title, all the while relying on Kaenon’s radically new SR-91 lens material, purpose-built lens tints, and re-engineered polarizing elements for superior depth perception and color contrast.

Picking up the new V7 last week at the LA Open, Gay prefers the Variant Series for its Luxury Performance attributes. The V7’s Copper 12 lenses are developed specifically for superior visual clarity while surveying the landscape of the course and are housed by a stylish, function first, lightweight rimless metal frame.

It was a big weekend of wins for Kaenon Polarized, who also had athletes climbing atop podiums in cycling, speed skating and skiing – all sports in which polarized lenses are just now beginning to be used. Kaenon’s proprietary SR-91 lens material and polarizing elements offer these world-class athletes superior optical acuity, impact-protection and glare-reduction all in one lens. Kaenon Polarized continues to fuel the performance eyewear category with SR-91, one of the lightest weight polarized lenses ever invented and the very first non-compromising lens material brought to market.

Other victories for Kaenon included a stellar performance by U.S. National Road Champion and Webcor Cycling Team member, Katheryn Curi Mattis, who wore Kaenon’s Hard Kore™ to win the Geelong World Cup in Australia, claiming victory in the opening round of the 2008 UCI Women’s Road Cycling World Cup series.

Canadian Olympian and speed skating champion, Jeremy Wotherspoon wore the award-winning Kaenon Kore™ to clinch the 500m overall title at the speed skating World Cup in Heerenveen, Netherlands. The win was his 67th in an individual World Cup race, and it clinched his thirteenth overall World Cup triumph. Both of these achievements are records among men and continue Wotherspoon’s reign as the winningest World Cup speed skater in the 500m event.

And no stranger to the podium, reigning Olympic Gold medalist and U.S. Ski team member Julia Mancuso took third place in the women’s World Cup downhill event in Whistler, Canada – putting Mancuso currently into 6th place in her quest for the overall women’s World Cup title. Julia’s current styles of choice are Georgia™ and Porter™.

Fused with inventive and soulful designs, Kaenon’s Luxury Performance sunglass collection continues to achieve an unprecedented balance of performance and style.
