Paula Creamer picked up her fifth LPGA win yesterday at the Fields Open, making four birdies in the last five holes to edge out leader Jeong Jang on the eighteenth. It was Creamer's second win in Hawaii, following last year's win at the season-opening SBS Open.
She's always been known for her penchant for pink—hence her nickname, the Pink Panther. But now she's taking it a step further, with a pink ball and a final-round pink hat for her caddie—a cue from Tiger, perhaps? "He likes it, I think, secretly," says Paula. "It means we're in the hunt, in contention." Uh huh, you keep telling yourself that, girlfriend. I'm sure he agrees to wear the hat because he secretly likes it, not because he wants to keep collecting his paycheck or anything.
Personally, while I question the pink caddie-topper, I'm all for the pink ball. I love Precept's color collection—blue, yellow, pink, a veritable rainbow of pastels. How better to make a Girl Power statement on the course? "If we're going with a pink ball, we're going pink," says Paula. "This thing, it's awesome. I like it. No one is out there with a pink ball."
