European Tour headed for Indonesia

Jan. 18, 2005 – The European Tour will break new ground in 2005 when it stages an event in Indonesia for the first time. The Standard Chartered Indonesia Open will take place Mar. 24-27 at the Cengkareng Golf Club in Jakarta.

The tournament will offer prize money of $1 million. Tour officials have said the event is scheduled to proceed despite the tsunami devastation in southern Asia, both to help the Indonesian economy and because the area around the course was unaffected by the disaster.
