BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. -- Developed to help newly-constructed courses begin play sooner and permanently enhance the root zone of greens, Profile Greens Grade Fortified RZ is the latest advance in inorganic soil amendments from Profile Golf.
Profile's new patent-pending formula combines microbes, humic acid and plant hormones, which enhance microbial activity in the root zone with the porous structure of Profile Porous Ceramic (PPC) particles. When incorporated into the greens mix, Greens Grade Fortified RZ accelerates turf establishment, allowing play to begin sooner. It also permanently enhances the root zone for turf that is more resistant to stress and less prone to disease.
"The PPC particles increase the water and nutrient holding capacity of the soil, which is ideal for the production of healthy, robust root systems," said Sam Stimmel, director of Profile Golf.
The performance of Profile Greens Grade Fortified RZ meets the specifications outlined in the USGA's Recommendations for a Method of Putting Green Construction. It falls within the medium-to-coarse particle range of the USGA® guidelines (.25 mm to 1.0 mm). Engineered from silica and illite clay that is kiln-fired, Greens Grade Fortified RZ is a dust-free porous ceramic particle that is stable, uniform in size and able to withstand intense traffic without compaction. It offers the ideal ratio of capillary to non-capillary pore space, and the same type of particle has been incorporated into more than 3,500 golf courses around the world, from public links to PGA tournament sites. Real-world success and years of independent and university testing leave no doubt that Profile Greens Grade changes root zones for the better, permanently.
In more than 400 independent efficacy trials, including university and USDA testing, the SuperBio® SoilLifeTM components in Greens Grade Fortified RZ have been proven to deliver improved germination, increased root mass and better overall plant health. Active ingredients include Endo Mycorrhizae spores, Bacillus species of beneficial soil bacteria, and Humic acid, which work within the rhizosphere, just millimeters off the root hair surface, to feed bacteria and convert ions into nutrition for the plant at an enhanced rate.
