The United States Puttle Organization (USPO) in pleased to announce a new corporate team building and sporting event: Lunch League Puttle (12:LLP). Lunch League Puttle allows for friendly Puttle competition to be conducted on the premises of most businesses with the express purpose of fostering team building and brand awareness. Similar to a corporate golf league, 12:LLP allows for all employees to compete equitably against one another based on an established handicap. If you can putt, you can Puttle.
Lunch League Puttle should consist of only nine puttle attempts instead of the longer eighteen as mandated by official tournament play. This shorter duration of play will allow for the competitions to be conducted within an acceptable length of time. To ensure corporate approval, the competitor field may need to be limited to a specific number of participants. Should that be the case, it is advised to allow for all interested parties to be allowed to play, which may require multiple playing days during the month.
It is advised by the USPO that Lunch League Puttle be conducted at least once a month to maintain continuity and interest. The USPO also encourages competition between companies as a way to strengthen corporate cohesion and brand identity through friendly competition..
Lunch League Puttle can be conducted during any time of the year, but it is advised by the USPO to establish a calendar year as the suggested time frame to follow, with the start of competition to commence in January and to conclude in December. An end of year competition will allow for an annual champion to be crowned.
Starting a Lunch League Puttle tournament is an quick and easy exercise. There are few physical components required; a Puttle set, putter, at least one golf ball and about 15 feet of carpeted hallway or conference room. A regulation Puttle tournament is conducted at twelve feet, but depending on the location a shorter distance may only be available. For purposes of 12:LLP, this distance is acceptable. .
As with any group activity it is advised that someone or small group be responsible for choosing the time, location and playing order as one would conduct with a regular golf outing. Since Puttle scoring is similar to golf, final results and awards will be determined by the lowest score.
