AUSTIN, Texas -- After almost seven months of tweaking and gathering pictures and information, Bechtol Golf Design unveiled its multimedia website last week, in the process marking another milestone in noted golf architect Roy Bechtol’s continuing move into the national golf consciousness.
The website – which was designed as to be an electronic brochure for Bechtol’s broad and ever-increasing scope of golf course accomplishments – features photo galleries and full-color architectural drawings of 10 courses Bechtol has had a hand in designing and routing.
“We are really excited about being able to use our website to show the kinds of things we can do at Bechtol Golf Design,” Bechtol said. “This site offers a snapshot of our company and its various projects, and we are satisfied that it accurately depicts our successes and our beliefs.”
The site (www.bechtolgolfdesign.com) also defines Bechtol Golf Design’s core values, outlines a list of projects Bechtol is currently working on, has links to media outlets that have published stories about Bechtol Golf Design and gives background information on Bechtol, his three companies (including Planned Environments, Inc. and Waters of America) and his staff.
Within the website are links to some of the home pages for courses Bechtol has designed, as well as those courses’ logos, an overview of each of the top 10 projects in Bechtol’s design portfolio and contact information for each of those courses. And there is more to come.
“In the future weeks and months we will add more of Roy’s courses, and their overviews and pictures, to the website, and we will constantly monitor industry newswires and outlets to provide a one-stop update on Bechtol Golf Design, its projects and the courses Roy has designed,” said Steve Habel, Bechtol Golf Design’s media coordinator. “This site is a living, breathing source of information, a vital link to our company and true reflection of Roy Bechtol, the Bechtol Golf Design team and their work.”
Bechtol Golf Design was founded in 1998 as an independent golf course architecture and design practice. The firm combines the complementary talents of its principal, Roy Bechtol, with a large and knowledgeable support staff. Unique among golf course design firms, Bechtol Golf Design has access to expertise extending across the entire land planning, environmental, landscape architecture and development process.
During its first nine years, Bechtol Golf Design has designed, built or collaborated in the building of more than 20 top-ranked golf courses. And the future looks even more productive, with no less than 50 golf course and community projects currently under consideration.
Bechtol Golf Design’s trademark continues to be course design that rewards a broad range of play levels and integrates seamlessly into the community and the environment. As simple as it seems, Bechtol Golf Design fashions and designs golf courses that are beautiful and fun to play.
“We have been able to fashion many challenging golf courses through the years, and we expect 2008 to be our best year ever,” Bechtol said. “Our new website allows us to show our current clients how we are proud of the courses we have built and gives those considering our services a better insight into the things we can bring to their respective projects.”
