SANTA ANA, Calif. -- GolfLinx International Inc., supplier of the world’s most advanced moisture sensors, announced it has signed an agreement with Horizon, a full-service supplier of landscape and irrigation supplies, to drive the company’s expansion in the U.S. market.
GolfLinx has signed a Master Certified Distributor Agreement which will initially be focused in Arizona and eventually expanding to 10 western states.
GolfLinx International CEO Nigel Hennessy said the agreement provides a strong platform for the company to build on its market position in the U.S.
“This agreement is very important to GolfLinx as it moves into a new phase in the critical U.S. market,” he said.
The Distribution Agreement is one of a number of developments to be announced at the Golf Industry Show in Orlando, Florida, reinforcing GolfLinx as a leader in water management solutions for the golf and sports turf industries.
GolfLinx International Vice President Robert F. Criste said the company is excited about certifying Horizon to be the initial Master Certified Distributor for the golf and sports turf markets.
“We believe our soil moisture and salinity sensors, combined with our telemetry and software, are the best in the world,” Mr. Criste said. “It is only fitting that we would choose Horizon since we believe they are the best in the irrigation distribution business.”
GolfLinx and its parent company, AquaSpy Group, have a strong heritage globally and are widely recognized for supplying sophisticated soil moisture technology in irrigated agriculture sectors since 1998. They are now expanding into the golf, sports turf and urban landscape sectors.
“We’re proud and honored to be named as GolfLinx’ first Master Certified Distributor in the U.S.,” said Shawn Connors, Vice President of Golf at Horizon. “We believe this will be another tool that today’s superintendents will use to better manage their golf courses’ natural resources while providing the best playing surface.”
Mr. Bruce Devlin, member of the GolfLinx Advisory board, will be on hand at the Golf Industry Show (Booth 4981) to share his experiences with GolfLinx systems over the past few years. As a former golf professional with eight PGA victories and more than 140 highly recognized golf course designs, he regards water management as an important aspect on today’s golf course.
“It is critical the superintendent uses smart water technologies to achieve precision in water management across the golf course,” Mr. Devlin said.
