VICTORIA, British Columbia, Canada. -- Bear Mountain Resort is delighted to announce that relationship builder and destination marketing organization expert, Tracey Webster has joined their team as Director of Sales.
Webster's career has included 18 years at Tourism Victoria, most recently as Director of Sales. Her solid connections and contacts from her work promoting Victoria as a world-class tourism destination will be invaluable in her new role at Bear Mountain Resort.
Webster has acquired her deep understanding of destination marketing and sales through her work within many departments at Tourism Victoria. She began her career there as a travel counselor at the Visitor Centre on Wharf Street and after two years, moved up to the administration office where her roles included Marketing Coordinator, Convention Services Coordinator, and then Manager of Meeting & Incentive Travel, a position which she held for seven years. She was instrumental in building and developing relationships between the Victoria Conference Centre and Tourism Victoria after the opening in 1989 in order for the two organizations to work together to bring meetings business to Victoria. In her most recent role as Director of Sales she chaired and hosted the most successful Canada West Marketplace in 2005 (based on buyer attendance and evaluations), brought familiarization tours to Victoria (which resulted in a direct increase in business), managed strategic sales events and built long-term relationships with key industry contacts.
Webster will be overseeing the sales department at The Westin Bear Mountain Victoria Golf Resort & Spa, a 156 room resort with 6,000 square feet of meeting space featuring three world class restaurants, the Mountainside Athletic Club, the Jack & Steve Nicklaus co-designed mountain course, the future Nicklaus Academy and the second 18-hole Nicklaus designed valley course. This will be the only Westin in the world with a Nicklaus Academy and the only golf resort in Canada featuring 36-holes of Nicklaus golf. Her responsibilities will focus on further exposing corporate, meeting and incentive planners throughout North America and the world to The Westin Bear Mountain product.
Len Barrie, Bear Mountain President and CEO, is thrilled to have Webster join the Bear Mountain team. "She is highly respected as a sales professional and has an impressive roster of contacts, from clients to local partners to solid partnerships with the Canadian Tourism Commission, along with regional destination marketing organizations. We are confident she will continue to build the local, national and international reputation of Bear Mountain as a world class resort community and destination.”
Webster is excited about taking on a leadership role within the sales department. "While promoting Victoria to the world, I have been watching Bear Mountain develop as one of Canada's premier destination resorts. I am excited about the opportunity to bring my expertise and knowledge of the industry to this dynamic resort.”
