Free AIGM golf clinic at Kuala Lumpur

PETALING JAYA, Malaysia – Jan. 12, 2005 – Giving golf enthusiasts the chance to enjoy a dream career while staying close to the game is what the Australian Institute for Golf Management (AIGM) is all about.

On Sunday, Ian Redmond, AIGM’s Resident AAA PGA Golf Professional, Ahmad Khalif Mustapha Kamal from the AIGM alumni, and Judy Tan, head of AIGM will be holding a meeting and a golf clinic free of charge at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC). The two sessions on Jan 16 will be from 11am-1.30pm and 2.30pm-5pm at the East VIP Lounge, on the 1st floor of KLGCC, off Jalan Bukit Kiara, Kuala Lumpur.

They are inviting school-leavers, university graduates and those looking for a career or lifestyle change to meet them to explore the opportunities at AIGM. Apart from giving students a good grounding in golf, the course at AIGM also prepares students for further education at universities in Australia.

The academic side of the course focuses on golf management skills and general business academic units. Students will graduate with a Certificate IV in Business after a year of study or a Diploma of Business after two years.

Some of the avenues open to graduates of AIGM include business, sports management and tourism management. Many AIGM alumni are now golf club managers, directors of training, operations managers and key personnel in pro shops all over the world.

Those interested should register before Jan 15 by calling AIGM at 03-7957 8594/ 7957 8612 or e-mail to aiuskl@pd.jaring.my.
