VIERA, Fla. -- Duran Golf Club extends a warm welcome to Wally Kuchar, the Director of Instruction at the new Duran Academy of Golf. A PGA Golf Professional, Kuchar has been in the golf industry as golf professional, teaching instructor, and as tournament player for the past 36 years. His enthusiasm, extensive experience and energy make him a perfect match for Duran’s Academy of Golf.

“Throughout the years, I have combined a competitive golfing career with employment as a golf professional and teaching instructor,” says Kuchar. “I am looking forward to extending my passion at Duran by instructing and coaching players of all ages.”

A resident of Central Florida for the past 32 years, Kuchar has held the positions of Golf Professional at Heathrow Country Club, Errol Country Club, Alaqua Country Club, Director of Instruction at The Maitland Golf Learning Center, and most recently, the Director of Golf at The Golden Bear Club at Keene’s Point in Orlando. Duran is very fortunate to have a professional of Kuchar’s level to head the instructional programs, and looks forward to the valuable addition he will make to the Golf Academy at Duran.

Set to open in mid January, the Duran Academy of Golf will bring a player development and instructional concept to the World Class Duran Development Center that will establish the Space Coast as a learning destination for not only local golfers, but golfers from around the country.
“The opening of the Academy of Golf under Wally Kuchar’s direction will complete the vision of creating a total golf experience for golfers of all skill levels” notes Duran General Manager David Tomczak. “Our goal is to not only introduce players to this great game, but to help them achieve the playing and enjoyment levels they desire. One of our main focus points will be to develop a strong junior program.”

The Academy will offer individual and group programs for juniors, beginners, ladies, and men, and will include clinics and golf schools. Duran will also offer custom club repair and club fitting with Titleist, Cobra, Taylor Made, Nike, Callaway, and Cleveland.
