PGMA to accept Charter Member applications

GOLD CANYON, AZ. – Jan. 11, 2005 – The Professional Golf Marshals Association (PGMA) has announced that it is now accepting Charter Member applications. The mission of the Professional Golf Marshals Association is to enhance the game of golf through the establishment of an alliance of Golf Marshals, course starters and volunteers, trained in the areas of golf rules, etiquette, pace of play, golf course safety and amateur and professional tournament play.

“We are very pleased to announce the founding of this professional association created to recognize and support the important role of golf marshals, starters and volunteers in the industry”, said Jim Collins, President of the PGMA. “It is our goal to provide our members with the finest and most prestigious professional association in golf. With the founding of the PGMA and the creation of trained Golf Marshals the sport now has the professional support to help players take their game to the next level.”

PMGA is getting support from golf industries leaders including the Professional Caddie Association (PCA) and their 7000 members. PCA founder Dennis Cone says: “We extend our hand and welcome the PGMA Volunteers and Marshals to the golf world spotlight. Our hats off to real heroes in a golf experience and the thousands who stand “Five Feet Away” who work behind the scene to ensure a great experience for the golfer and fans.”
