SATURNIA, Tuscany, Italy -- To celebrate the opening of the first nine holes of its championship golf course, Terme di Saturnia Spa & Golf Resort, located in the heart of Tuscany's Maremma region, invites resort guests to experience the course complimentary during their stay now through February 2008.

Guests of Terme di Saturnia will be able to experience Tuscany's newest golf course at no extra cost as they will be provided with exclusive access to the course through February 2008. When the second nine holes open in March 2008, both guests and non-resort guests will be able to play the course. Daily greens fees for hotel guests will be €50 or $73 and € 60 or $88 for non-resort guests on weekdays and € 80 or $117 for non-resort guests during weekends and holidays. In addition, the course will also offer half-hour private lessons with a golf trainer for € 30 or $44 for resort guests and € 35 or $51 for non-resort guests

Set upon 247 acres adjacent to the resort, each of the nine holes was expertly designed by internationally renowned architect, Ronald Fream, who also worked with Oakhurst Country Club in California and Ritz Carlton Resort in Bali. Each hole features various approaches that allow golfers to take in the spectacular Tuscan setting. As golfers play through the course they will take in the poetic panoramas provided by the nearby medieval villages of Saturnia, Montemerano and Poggio Murella with Monte Amiata as its backdrop. Further, the surrounding countryside is cultured with wheat, sunflowers, oats and olive groves – transforming the game into an experience for all the senses.
