Bronze golf signage reburbishments can be cost saving option

When Director of Golf, Jim Curran, who works for Fisher Island Hotel and Resort, Miami, Florida-based, recently contacted Brown Cullen NPS asking for help to support a complete course refurbishment, he discovered that the bronze work previously produced by the company 13 years earlier could be refurbished.

"I called with the expectation that I would need to replace the existing directional markers, but I was surprised to discover the cost savings from a refurbishment program. I tested their refurbishment claims and found the results made a 13 year old bronze yardage marker look new. We also needed a few new items. The new bronze matched the old refurbished items, including the Fisher Island logo. All and all, the refurbishment program is a good value," he said.

Why consider a bronze directional marker refurbishment program:
« Changing greens / tee boxes,
« Buying an old course and changing the course name,
« Directional plaques are weathered and need to be cleaned up,
« Adding a GPS scoring system requires a need to update the yardage markers,
« Members want the old to look as good as the new being added,
« Vandalism tarnished the fresh look,
« A new course entered the market and the existing markers need to be refurbished to have a fresh look offered by a new course?

Glenn Nord, CEO and President of Brown Cullen NPS, "We have a proprietary refurbishment process with talented technicians. Our work compliments the refurbishment trend in the golf course industry."

Brown Cullen NPS recommends the following steps when considering a refurbishment program:
« Have the refurbishment company take an old item and make it look new.
« The refurbishment test should take about a week to process the sample. A shop that takes longer than 1 week for a test sample is likely not staffed with individuals who focus on refurbishment work.
« Ask about temporary replacements during the refurbishment process.
« Ask about the durability of the finish and ability to match the existing logo.

Refurbishing is another way to keep course management fees in line and maintain a fresh look with directional markers.
