Scottish golf challenge of classic proportions
The Aberdeenshire Golf Classic 2004 tee?s-off for another un-fore-gettable week of competition golf on four of Aberdeenshire?s finest courses.
The 72 Hole Stableford competition is played over the golfing gems Cruden Bay, Newmachar Hawkshill, East Aberdeenshire and Murcar from 13th to 16th September. For only a £95 entry fee competitors can play over these four great courses and have the chance to win a prize from a £2,000 prize fund.
If 18 holes a day on four of Aberdeenshire?s most challenging courses isn?t enough competitors can swing into action in the event?s fun-packed post competition social activities which this year includes a champagne reception, target golf competition, BBQ and crazy golf competition.

Monday 13th September
Murcar Golf Course. 18 Holes, links. 6,314 yards, par 71.
Murcar is a special gem of a links golf courses. Held in high esteem by local golfers and the streams of visiting golfers that adorn its fairways Murcar is one of the top courses in Aberdeen and Grampian and Scotland. The natural links terrain of Murcar?s 18 hole championship course and the wind from the North Sea make this a real test of golf and the ideal starting challenge to a week of competition golf.
Tuesday 14th September
Cruden Bay Golf Course. 18 holes, links. 6,396 yards, par 70.
The traditional links of Cruden Bay is world renowned with the golden sands of the Bay of Cruden encircling the course on one side and the gorse and undulating terrain providing a stern and enjoyable challenge overall.
Wednesday 15th September
East Aberdeenshire Golf Centre. 18 holes, parkland. 6,276 yards, par 71.
East Aberdeenshire is one of the newest additions to Aberdeen and Grampian?s wealth of golf courses. Panoramic views and a well-designed layout have transformed this into an enjoyable course to play.
Thursday 16th September
Newmachar Hawkshill Golf Course. 18 holes, parkland. 6,659, par 72.
Designed by Dave Thomas and Peter Allis, Hawkshill is a challenging course. The natural features of the pine and birch woodlands have been retained and now line the narrow fairways and surround the well-bunkered greens.
Aberdeen and Grampian Highlands boasts a selection of 70 Scottish golf courses from internationally renowned treasures and hidden gems of fantastic quality. But there are more than just spectacular golf courses awaiting visitors, the fantastic countryside is home to enchanting castles and famous whisky distilleries.
