Trevor Immelman captures victory at NedBank Golf Challenge

In front of a supportive South African crowd at the NedBank Golf Challenge at Sun City’s Gary Player Country Club in South Africa, Nike Golf’s Trevor Immelman claimed his first win in 2007 with new Nike Golf products in his bag. Immelman benefited from the square technology that is offered in the new SUMO² Tour driver that will be available in stores starting on SUMO Saturday (February 2, 2008). Proof positive that the SUMO² technology helps golfers hit the ball straight and long, Immelman ranked first in driving accuracy at 75% and ranked tied for sixth in driving distance with an average of 282 yards. Immelman’s winning performance was also helped by Nike Golf’s new SUMO² Hybrids (17˚ and 20˚) and the Nike Unitized Retro putter.

Also assisting him to victory was the successful Nike ONE Platinum ball, which has accumulated 12 PGA TOUR wins by Nike Golf athletes (Nike ONE Black had one win).

Immelman’s win represents Nike Golf’s seventh international win in 2007 and sums up what has been a fantastic year by Nike Golf athletes. On the 2007 PGA Tour, Nike Golf had 13 PGA Tour wins and led the Tour in driver and irons wins for a consecutive year.
