By Jeff Richter, Northstar PGA Head Golf Professional

Though summer isn't quite over, Old Man Winter will be here before we know it. That is why now is the time to get out on the golf course and save some precious dollars at the same time. After all, the money saved can help pay for that much coveted ski pass this winter.

Northstar-at-Tahoe is the perfect place to play golf this time of year. The large summer crowds are gone and with the switching of the nines, Northstar has no major frost delays, the pace of play is quicker and there is optimum lighting throughout each round. Right now, the course is in prime condition and its unique design makes it feel like you are playing two courses in one, the mountain nine in the front and the meadow nine in the back.

New this season, Northstar is offering the Take Four Value Pack for $199. This value pack is available now and is good for four rounds of golf Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., through June 16, 2005. There are not many golf deals better than this. For less than $50 a round, golfers will witness incredible fall foliage surrounding every hole, not to mention reacquaint themselves with the familiar smell of people lighting their
fireplace for the first time this season.

To further persuade you to come out and play golf before season?s end, Northstar kicks off its bargain season on Tuesday, September 7. Rounds of golf start at just $65, Monday through Thursday, and $85, Friday through Sunday. Twilight tee times are also available for $45 walking and $55 with a cart. Juniors ages 17 and under play for $39 after 1 p.m. Prices like this leave little to no excuse for folks not to come out and play.

Another benefit to the shoulder season is discounted equipment and merchandise. Come check out the Northstar Golf Shop were everything is 25 percent off. Our golf shop rivals all others in the area and offers top-of-the-line apparel including Adidas, Ashworth, Tehama and FootJoy.
