VICTORIA, British Columbia, Canada -- Bear Mountain Resorts is pleased to announce that business leader and community builder Phil Leedham has joined their team as chief operating officer (COO).
Leedham's career spans 15 years in a variety of senior management and business development positions in the banking, oil and gas, trading and construction industries, both within Canada and internationally. For the past seven years he has been the senior manager of commercial banking for HSBC Bank Canada in Victoria, where he was honoured with the prestigious President's Award in 2004. Previous positions include Asia Pacific business development for a Canadian oil and gas company while based out of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and oil exploration for a company in Alberta and northern British Columbia. Prior to that he was the owner and president of a contracting company in Vancouver, BC. Leedham is passionate about giving back to his community and is involved in fundraising campaigns for the United Way, BC Children's Hospital and Junior Achievement.
Leedham will be overseeing all operations of Bear Mountain Resort including The Westin Bear Mountain Victoria Golf Resort & Spa, Bear Mountain Golf & Country Club, Mountainside Athletic Club, Jack's Place and the real estate division. His broad responsibilities will focus on the many different aspects of each resort division to ensure fiscal responsibility, sales, and overall resort synergies between divisions.
