Pete Dye back to La Quinta Resort & Club and PGA West courses

LA QUINTA, Calif. -- Twenty-seven years after unveiling his first of three courses at La Quinta Resort & Club and PGA West, Paul "Pete" Dye returns to the resort and private club with a three-year agreement to polish and advance the legacy and history of his designed courses. "With the return of Pete Dye to La Quinta Resort & Club, resort guests can expect to see some very exciting advancements to the already award-winning courses," said Roger Swadish, vice president, Hilton Hotels Corporation, Waldorf-Astoria Collection.

The courses designed by Dye have received critical acclaim and continue to consistently rank among the greatest challenges for golfers. The dramatic Mountain™ and Dunes™ courses, as well as the esteemed Stadium Golf® Course at PGA West remain some of the most revered courses in the world.

"I am excited for the opportunity to put more time and effort into PGA West. It is important to me that my courses consistently remain the best of the best," said Pete Dye.

Without taking away from the challenge to advanced players, the redesign will enhance the courses to accommodate golfers at varying levels of ability, along with an equal concern for maintenance and the environment. "Dye Designs has been contracted to create long-range plans and course improvements to be in place over the next three years," said Dean Miller, director of agronomy for PGA West. "Pete [Dye] has already made a few visits to the courses and will be working with us to develop our final renovation plans to advance his original designs."

La Quinta Resort & Club and PGA West recently spent $7.5 million for general improvements to all courses. The extensive multi-million dollar plan with Dye Designs will be finalized and announced in late November.
