Robb Report Says

August 26, 2004, Myrtle Beach, S.C. ? The Robb Report, a national lifestyle magazine for business and industry leaders, reported in its July, 2004 edition of The Robb Report Collection/Real Estate & Home Design, that residential communities with golf courses designed by ?Big Name? architects like Hall-of-Fame golfer Nick Price and award-winning architect Craig Schreiner appreciate better than other golf communities.
Grande Dunes, a multi-billion dollar, master-planned community that encompasses 2,200 acres of prime coastal real estate and stretches from the Atlantic Ocean to the west side of the Intracoastal Waterway. The new Members Club at Grande Dunes is the most prestigious golf amenity at the upscale residential resort and features impeccable course conditioning, exceptional customer service and the ultimate private club experience.
The Members Club at Grande Dunes features straight-forward, natural holes that offer strategically positioned bunkers. This design reflects a ?true members club? where a course challenges and rewards golfers who play it frequently and who learn how to best manage its rolling fairways and subtle, sloping greens. The design of the Members Club at Grande Dunes reflects Price?s philosophy of ?least disturbance. According to Price, ?Golf is more than a game, it?s an endeavor steeped in history and deserving of every aspect. I want to create courses worthy of that tradition.?
The Members Club at Grande Dunes offers 176 home sites along the front nine, with approximately 50 of those set along the Intracoastal Waterway. The homes have significant setback restrictions. Quaint cottages are also planned along the 9th and 18th holes in the tradition of Augusta National.
?Homes on a course designed by a big name golf designer appreciate at a rate much higher than those on courses designed by lesser names,? according to Larry Hirsh, a golf course community appraiser who was interviewed for the Robb Report article, ?The Golf Name Game.?
?That?s excellent news for our property owners at Grande Dunes,? says Dowdell Brown, vice president of Grande Dunes Development Company, LLC. ?Interest in Grande Dunes has soared since it was first introduced. More and more people from the across the U.S. are making Grande Dunes home. With our world-class amenities and the debut of our Nick Price course, property owners will be able to see a definite return on their investment in property value alone.?
