Kevin Miller named Niagara University golf coach

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – Dec. 31, 2004 – Niagara University Director of Athletics Mike Hermann announced the hiring of Kevin Miller as the Purple Eagles’ head golf coach.

"I’m pleased that we were able to find someone as experienced in golf as Kevin to lead our program," Hermann said. "He has a great passion for the sport and is an outstanding teacher of the game. His excellent business skills will help with many of the off-the-course aspects of the golf program."

Miller brings five years of professional golf experience to Monteagle Ridge. He spent a year each at the Westchester Hills Golf Club and the Greenwich Country Club between 1983 and 1986. Miller was a teaching professional, running clinics, providing lessons while coordinating and running the junior golf programs.

"The ability to teach young players to improve on a game I love so much will be the most gratifying," Miller said. "This opportunity as a coach will allow me to get back to a sport I am very passionate about at an institution that has a mission that is consistent with my values. The game of golf can lead to many other successful careers and ventures in life. Most importantly, as a coach, I would like to provide the student-athletes with strong guidance and advice that will help to prepare these young men for the next page of their lives."

A 1984 graduate of Ferris State College, Miller graduated with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and golf pro management. During college, Miller interned at The Greenbrier and the Tennison Park Club Clubs in 1982 and 1981, respectively.

Niagara finished the fall season with three top-five finishes in its four tournaments.
