Nike Golf’s Ames captures the Children's Miracle Network Classic

Nike Golf’s Stephen Ames used an early model of Nike’s newest evolution of the SQ SUMO² (square) driver to win the final official PGA Tour event of the season at the Children’s Miracle Network Classic. Ames’ win with the new Nike driver comes three months before it will be available in stores on February 2, 2008. That day is also designated by Nike Golf as SUMO Saturday, when curious golfers can demo and purchase the driver for the first time. Ames closed with a four-under-par score of 68 to win by one stroke and capture his first win of the season and his third PGA Tour career victory. Ames’ winning performance brings to 13 the number of PGA Tour wins by six different Nike Golf athletes in 2007, which translates to – Nike Golf athletes won 28% of the PGA Tour events in 2007.

And, just three days after hitting the market, the new Nike Golf Air Zoom Elite footwear enjoyed exposure on the PGA Tour with Ames wearing them on his feet for total comfort and total peformance.
