Golf Expo coming to Russia

Dec. 31, 2004 – It has been announcement that Golf Expo 2005 will be holding its second annual show in Moscow, not Idaho, in Russia.

The organizers say that GolfExpo Russia has “opened the door to Europe’s last major golf market at the threshold of a boom from which everyone can profit.” They add: “The potential is enormous: Belarus, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldavia, the Ukraine and not least, Russia, are all moving quickly to adopt the game that is already the passion of 60 million players around the globe. Russia alone is planning to develop over 500 new golf facilities over the next 15 years.”

The organizing committee promises: “GolfExpo Russia will showcase products, services and information for professionals and participants. It is the marketplace for the entire range of golf equipment, fashion and accessories as well as luxury travel and real estate. It also offers a variety of sessions that allow participants to discuss industry trends, hear expert views on key issues and learn about new products and needs. The program includes educational sessions pertaining to all areas of the golf industry in the form of a large conference, seminars, round tables and panel discussions.”

To promote the event, the organizers plan to launch a multi-level advertising and public relations campaign including newspapers, magazines, TV channels, radio stations, websites and direct mail. The first show was attended by over 3,000 visitors, but this year that number is expected to increase dramatically.

The 2005 GolfExpo Russia will be held May 18-19 at the Radisson SAS Slavyanskaya Hotel in Moscow.
