The Golf Industry Show announces opening registration period

The Golf Industry Show, presented by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) and the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA), is an innovative trade show designed for the owners/operators of golf facilities, and the professional members of the golf course and club management industries. Featuring interactive solution centers and the largest exhibit floor in the industry, the event combines education, networking and solutions for golf course superintendents, owners/operators, general managers, chief operating officers, architects and builders.

Also participating as supporting organizations are the Golf Course Builders Association of America, the American Society of Golf Course Architects and the National Golf Foundation.

More than 25,000 golf industry professionals are expected to attend this year's show, which will feature approximately 1,100 exhibitors over more than 300,000 net square feet of exhibit space. In addition, a number of special features have been designed to enhance the show experience for attendees. Showcased on the floor will be four "solution centers" focused on a particular area of golf facility management, each offering interactive demonstrations, presentations and case studies by industry experts, and informative displays.

Media registration is open

Online registration is open for media. A quick and simple online form, media registration is complimentary for the trade show and education events.

Eligibility

Media credentials will be issued to working personnel of recognized news services, publications, outlets, and media/public relations officials only. If registering on site, media personnel must register and show proof as working media or media representative at the time of registration. After registration is complete, media personnel will have access to the Media Center on site. We reserve the right to request proof of journalistic employment. Credentials are non-transferable.

Media Center

The Golf Industry Show Media Center will be located on the trade show floor in Booth 3200. Open Wednesday, Jan. 30 to Saturday, Feb. 2, this location puts you squarely in the middle of all the action. It allows you to network, learn about new products and compile information for publication directly on the trade show floor.

Exhibitors will be presenting news conferences throughout the Golf Industry Show in the media center.

General Session - Friday, Feb. 1 - 8:30-9:30 a.m.

The Golf Industry Show General Session is 8:30-9:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 1. Doug Keeley will present "The Mark of a Leader." The program is a treasure chest of inspiring stories about the world's greatest leaders and brands, and the principles that have made them successful. Participants will be inspired to think about their role and priorities as a leader, and give clear ways to improve their leadership skills. This will challenge audience members to look at their team and how it is functioning, and the perceptual barriers that hold them back. This program has gained acclaim from some of the world's most prestigious organizations, companies, and associations for the powerful and positive impact it has on audiences' lives, and businesses.

Team Day - Friday Feb. 1 - 9:45-4:00

Rob Morton from the Disney Institute is returning to the Golf Industry Show Team Day to share the next steps in enhancing the entire golf experience. This interactive presentation from 9:45-11:15 a.m., is designed to build on the teamwork concepts shared in 2007 while providing exceptional value to first-time attendees. This is an excellent opportunity to benchmark proven service strategies and tactics that are directly applicable to the golf industry and relevant to both internal and external customers. Program participants will be given a tool that can be used to evaluate their own current service delivery and identify areas of focus for improvement.

The USGA Green Section Program presents "Taking Care of Business: Opportunities to Enhance Facility and Professional Growth" from 9:45-11:45 a.m., and then 11:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., is set aside for the entire golf management team to walk the trade show floor together, during which time there will be no competing education offered. GCSAA Education Conference
Jan. 28-Feb. 2, 2008

The GCSAA Education Conference, held in conjunction with the Golf Industry Show, is the largest educational conference in the turfgrass management industry. More than 100 seminars and 50 additional hours of educational sessions are offered, covering all aspects of golf course management, including agronomics, communication and business management. GCSAA Education Conference daily schedule

The GCSAA Education Conference Opening Session will be held Thursday, Jan. 31 from 9-10:45 a.m. Presented in partnership with Bayer Environmental Science, the GCSAA Opening Session will feature World Golf Hall of Fame member and Environmental Institute for Golf Trustee/Advisory Council chairman Greg Norman, as he receives GCSAA's 2008 Old Tom Morris Award. Norman, chairman and CEO of Great White Shark Enterprises, will also be the keynote speaker.

NGCOA Annual Conference daily schedule

The NGCOA Annual Conference General Session will be held Wednesday, Jan. 30. FISH! Philosopher Carr Hagerman, will deliver the keynote address. On Thursday, Jan. 31, Dan Thurmon, president of Motivation Works Inc., will present his flagship keynote program, Success in Action, at NGCOA's Plenary Session.

CMAA World Conference on Club Management

Christopher Gardner, CEO of Christopher Gardner International Holdings, will give the keynote address at the CMAA World Conference on Club Management Opening Business Session, 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2. New York Times No. 1 best-selling author and language/communication expert, Dr. Deborah Tannen will serve as the keynote speaker at the Closing Business Session, 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5.
