Ron Mon: The winners on the Nationwide Tour

Miguel Carballo...John Kimbell...Jay Williamson...Chris Riley...Daniel Summerhays...Tom Scherrer...Franklin Langham...Brad Adamonis...

If you can guess what these guys have in common, in addition to vowels, consonants, and good golf swings, then you are me. What they have in common are two things (minimum). The first is that they have all won tournaments on the Nationwide Tour this year. The second is that a victory is not enough to get them into the top 25, good for a PGA Tour card in 2008. To be fair, no one knows where Riley spends his weekends, while Summerhays' victory money didn't count, since he was an amateur. What it means, though, is that these golfers are hungry for the big time, and a win just ain't good enough any more...Unless it takes place at the right time. Just ask Craig Kanada.

Last season, Kanada won the Tour Championship of the Nationwide, vaulting over an exciting number of players to gain his tour card. If any of these eight were to do the same, he would certainly fill out a change of address card for the PGA Tour.

So, sit back and watch the show. Call it Q-School Light if you want; it will most certainly be a grind.
