PHILADELPHIA -- The Southeastern Pennsylvanian Chapter of the American Red Cross today announced that SAP America, Inc., a subsidiary of SAP AG (NYSE: SAP), is on par to raise in excess of $15,000 by hosting its annual SAP ParsForCharity Golf-A-Thon, a year-long, Internet-based multiple round golf challenge that increases the Golf-A-Thon monies raised based on points earned for pars or better scores.
Since 2004, SAP Americas has supported the Southeastern Pennsylvania American Red Cross in many ways, including through this virtual golf tournament. Teams of employees throughout the organization get involved for a good cause – and in hopes of earning the title of “National Champion.” Prizes are awarded in a number of categories, including best golfers and most money raised. This year, the American Red Cross will also present the Red Cross Short Game Trophy to a deserved winner at a year-end tournament.
“The Red Cross values its partnership with SAP Americas, and we are gracious for their leadership involvement and continual support of our efforts here in Southeastern Pennsylvania,” said Tom Foley, CEO, American Red Cross SEPA Chapter. “We are especially happy that SAP has chosen the Red Cross as the beneficiary of such an innovative employee engagement activity.”
“ParsForCharity is a unique way to blend SAP’s strong philanthropical commitment to the Philadelphia area with our passion for technology,” said Terry Laudal, SVP, Human Resources, SAP America, Inc. “This is truly a case of combining doing good and having fun.”
