CARLSBAD, Calif. -- TaylorMade Tour Staff professional Loren Roberts hoisted the gold Charles Schwab Cup as the 2007 Champions Tour points leader after a 11-under effort at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship in Sonoma, CA.
Roberts shot rounds of 71-70-69-67 and tied for 13th at the Champions Tour's season-ending event, which was enough to retain his lead in the Charles Schwab Cup race and earn a $1 million annuity – awarded to the top finisher in the race.
Using TaylorMade equipment, Roberts’ steady and consistent play enabled him to hover near or at the top of the standings all year long. Roberts won two out of the 23 events he played in: The Boeing Championship at Sandestin and the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship. He also accumulated 14 top-10 finishes and finished with $2,170,627 in earnings.
Roberts finished 2007 with 2,716 points. Last year he finished second in the Charles Schwab Cup, only 20 points behind the winner.
