Nike Golf congratulates their staff professionals on recent wins

-John Cook Wins on the Champions Tour; Ron Whittaker wins on the Nationwide Tour; and Shingo Katayama is Victorious in Japan-

Champions Tour - AT&T Championship
Nike Golf’s John Cook won his first Champions Tour title at the AT&T Championship in only his second Champions Tour start. Cook closed with a six-under-par round of 65 to capture the title by two strokes. Using Nike Golf equipment, Cook, who started the final round two strokes back, became a threat to the field after producing seven birdies en route to his 65. Cook is an 11-time winner on the PGA Tour and only just turned 50 in October 2. Cook led the field in birdies and using the Nike SasQuatch Tour driver, he ranked third in driving accuracy at 76.2%. Cook ranked second in greens in regulation at 78% with the help of his Nike Blades.

Nationwide Tour- Chattanooga Classic
Ron Whittaker captured the first Nationwide Tour victory of his career at the Chattanooga Classic bringing to six Nationwide Tour titles by Nike Golf athletes in 2007. Whittaker’s win secured him a spot on the PGA Tour in 2008. Using Nike Golf’s SUMO driver, Whittaker averaged a perfect 100% in fairways hit in the final round. Also guiding him to victory was his precise iron play with his Nike Pro Combo OS irons, which helped him to an impressive 94% average in greens hit in regulation.

Japan Golf Tour – Bridgestone Open
While Nike Golf’s John Cook and Ron Whittaker were winning titles in the United States, a trophy presentation had already taken place to another member of Nike Golf’s Tour staff – Shingo Katayama in Japan. Nike Golf’s Katayama won the Bridgestone Open for his 23rd career victory and second in 2007. Katayama made a birdie putt on the final hole to win by one stroke for a come-from-behind victory. Katayama’s victory brings to six international wins by Nike Golf athletes.
