Reno-Tahoe Open makes donations

Dec. 29, 2004 – Charities received $168,250 this year from the Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation, bringing the tournament's total contributions to more than $1.3 million in its six years on the PGA Tour.

"It's our volunteers and our sponsors who make it possible for us to support these charities," said Fred Boyd, chairman of the RTO Foundation.

The Reno-area groups that received checks this year were: Boys and Girls Club, the Fred and Judy Alexander Foundation, the SPCA, the YMCA of the Sierra, The Childrens Cabinet, House Calls, Foster Grandparents, the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts, Reno Explorers and Galena High School.

The seventh annual Reno-Tahoe Open will be held Aug. 18-21 at Montreux Golf & Country Club.
