International Golf Course Equipment Managers make new award

The International Golf Course Equipment Managers Association has announced a new award for turf equipment.

The Edwin Budding Award will recognize those who have made significant contributions to the golf course equipment industry, including those who have excelled in the business, history, design, engineering and maintenance of golf course equipment. Budding was a pioneer who invented the reel mower in 1830, as well as the adjustable spanner/wrench.

The award committee is made up of industry leaders and an IGCEMA member. To nominate person for the award, send an e-mail message to nominations@igcema.org detailing why the individual should receive the award and what measurable attributes set them apart from their colleagues.

Nominators will receive a confirmation e-mail stating that IGCEMA has received the nomination. The deadline for nominations will be Dec. 1 and the winner will be presented the award at the Golf Industry Show.
