Dec. 25, 2004 – USGA officials will introduce a handicap index limit for the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links beginning with the 2005 event. All entrants now must meet the conditions of being a public course golfer and hold a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 18.4.

The 2005 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links is scheduled for July 11-16 at Swope Memorial Golf Course in Kansas City, Mo.
