PGA Tees up €200m Kinsale Harbour Project

Dec. 25, 2004 – The Professional Golfers’ Association will play a key role in Ireland’s exciting new €200m Kinsale Harbour venture in County Cork.

PGA Golf Management will manage the planned 18-hole championship course, clubhouse and golf academy on the 650 acre site. Kinsale Harbour will become Ireland’s first integrated tourism complex.

Attractions will include a 200-room five star deluxe Hyatt Hotel plus indoor and outdoor equestrian facilities and 500-seater arena.

The PGA is collaborating with international property development consortium XCES and Hyatt International on the project which will create up to 800 jobs including 350 initial full time positions.

The course was designed by European Golf Design, a joint venture between the European Tour and IMG.

David Dean, senior management executive of PGA Golf Management said: “The Kinsale Harbour Resort will not only be a market leading addition to the economy of Kinsale and Cork County, but will become one of the finest and most sought after golf resort experiences in Europe.

“The unique combination of resort facilities, location and headland setting of the golf course will be stunning and PGA Golf Management is delighted to be responsible for managing the golf facilities.

“We are looking forward to working with XCES Projects, Hyatt International and European Golf Design in making the resort a success.”
