Dec. 25, 2004 – Move over the world of putters as the MacGregor range of V-Foil M Series putters, designed by Bobby Grace is gaining momentum. During the recent MasterCard Masters at Huntingdale, the unique shape of the MacGregor putters were seemingly splashed all over the TV screens. Coming painstakingly close to yet another professional tour victory on the world stage, the V-Foil M putters featured prominently in the top ten placings.
Year to date, the Bobby Grace designed MacGregor putters have won ten tour victories and earned their players in excess US$17 million in prize money according to Frank Wilson, Director of System Golf, the importer and distributor of MacGregor equipment in Australia.
“We are very excited about the Bobby Grace putters and fact that so many professional are starting to use them is testament to their design and performance characteristics”, says Wilson.
V-FOIL MOI putters are 100% milled from a solid block of 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum and enhanced with Tri-Tech Adjustable weighting. The combination positions the centre of gravity in the optimal position - deep and directly behind the putter face. The result is unbeatable stability and forgiveness, reduced skipping at contact and pure roll.
Recent Macgregor convert and former world number one, Greg Norman says, "What I like about this putter is that I can position my eyes over the ball easier than a conventional putter. It took me two or three days to get used to the look of it. Once you see through all that and see the simplicity of the putter, it swings very naturally. It swings from square to square. From my perspective, my stroke is that way. The only thing I had to do was get used to the visual look. Everything else sets up beautifully."
