THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. -- Twelve-time PGA Tour Champion Fuzzy Zoeller has been working closely with the PowerBilt research & development team. Together, they have created exciting new pure carbon steel cavity-back forged irons and enhanced the famous PowerBilt back-weight hybrids. The result: premium PowerBilt Citation FZ1 clubs for serious players.
“I’ve had more success with PowerBilt than with any other clubs in my career,” said Zoeller, who rejoined the PowerBilt advisory staff earlier this year. “I’m back with PowerBilt, and PowerBilt is back in premium golf equipment with the new Citation FZ1’s.”
The FZ1 name honors the Masters, U.S Open, Senior PGA, and Ryder Cup champion Zoeller. All clubs sport an attractive Fuzzy Zoeller FZ1 medallion.
Of course, Zoeller is playing the new FZ1’s on the Champions Tour.
“I love everything about the new PowerBilt Citation FZ1’s, and not just because they’re named for me,” the always jovial Zoeller laughed. “The FZ1’s set up beautifully at address. And they have that sweet feel that excites a player when the club strikes the ball.”
FZ1 FORGED IRON TECHNOLOGY
PowerBilt Citation FZ1’s feature the latest in forged iron technology. For a traditional design that appeals to low handicappers, FZ1 cavity-back forged irons have a relatively high Moment of Inertia (MOI) for a classic-shaped iron, so players of all ability will benefit.
FZ1’s are CNC milled for precise head weight and shape, providing perfect weight distribution. They’re made from 1021 carbon steel with nickel and chrome plating and a combination of satin and bead blasted finish. The tour-ground traditional shape FZ1 irons also have a bead blasted top line to eliminate distracting glare at address. An attractive multi-finish, four-color high quality emblem is featured on the back.
FZ1’s minimal progressive offset hosels combine with precise weight distribution and loft to produce the low penetrating (boring type) ball trajectory preferred by average-to-better players.
FZ1 HYBRID TECHNOLOGY
FZ1 hybrids feature a low center of gravity (CG) for ease-of-use by all players. The low CG is created by PowerBilt’s famous hybrid back-weighting. Tungsten is strategically placed in the heel and toe to move weight back and low, making long shots easier to hit and providing the ultimate in control and distance.
The four-way, multi finish, two-level radius sole is designed to minimize turf drag as the club is drawn away from the ball. The FZ1 hybrids’ two level soles also work to remove any impediment to a clean ball strike.
The 2 hybrid comes in an 18-degree loft. The 3 is 21 degrees, while the 4 is 24 degrees, and the 5 is 27 degrees.
