Mizuno announces introduction of MP-57 Grain Flow Forged iron

Mizuno, maker of the world’s finest irons, has introduced the new MP-57™ Grain Flow Forged iron featuring award-winning Cut Muscle™ Technology in a full cavity design. The MP-57 is the first iron in Mizuno’s legendary MP line that utilizes a full cavity, resulting in a larger sweet area and making the MP-57 the most playable MP iron in the storied history of the company.

Along with increased forgiveness, the MP-57s with Cut Muscle Technology will deliver the unsurpassed feel and precision that MP players crave. The result is an iron that delivers an extremely consistent and predictable ball flight and unmatched workability while also providing extra forgiveness that any player can benefit from.

“The unrivaled feel, precision, and performance of Mizuno’s MP line of irons can now be experienced by a much larger range of golfers with the addition of the MP-57 irons,” said Dick Lyons, Vice President and General Manager, Mizuno USA Golf Division. “Nothing was sacrificed when designing this iron. The MP-57 has all the qualities golfers have come to expect from a Mizuno MP iron, unbelievable feel, maximum workability, and precise distance control, all with the added forgiveness of a full cavity.”

Other features of the new MP-57 include a rolled leading edge, cambered mid-sole, and rolled trailing edge to deliver consistent striking ability from all types of lies, modified U-grooves produce the ideal spin rate for maximum playability in all conditions, and a durable double nickel chrome plated finish for a player preferred look.

The MP-57™ will be offered in right and left handed models with True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 and R300 steel shafts for a suggested retail price of $1,000 and also available with Project X 5.5 shafts for $1,100. The exclusive MIZUNO/Golf Pride® M-21 58 Round grips will come standard. (Other shafts and grips as well as flat or upright lies are available through Mizuno’s Custom Club department.) Mizuno will begin shipping the MP-57™ irons to accounts in September.

Mizuno Introduces the Sora Collection

Mizuno USA, Inc., recognized as the leader in golf technological innovation, extends its reach and impact on the golf world today with the introduction of the SORA Collection, designed specifically for the woman golfer. After intensive research utilizing Mizuno’s global network of custom fitters and in-depth interviews with women golfers about their specific wants and needs, Mizuno debuts this collection which is specifically designed for ease of play, increased enjoyment, and improved results.

Through extensive testing and player evaluation, the Mizuno R&D Team determined that many of amateur female golfers have difficulty launching the ball. With this knowledge the Mizuno R&D Team placed the COG and loft of each club precisely to aid in getting the ball airborne easily. Moreover, by expanding the loft differential between woods to a consistent 4 degrees of loft and irons to a consistent 5 degrees, each club in the SORA™ set will be easily distinguishable by distance, helping women golfers match the right club to every shot. The SORA collection features a forgiving 460cc titanium driver, high-launch stainless steel 3 wood, 5 wood, and 7 hybrid, six (6-SW) extreme pocket cavity design stainless steel irons which deliver an easy, high launch with maximum forgiveness, and an oversized mallet putter which is easy to align and features a soft polymer face insert for pure feel and true roll on the green.

“The SORA Collection for Women takes both style and game improvement performance to levels not yet seen,” said Chuck Couch, Director of Marketing, Golf Division for Mizuno USA, Inc. “Not only are these clubs extremely forgiving, but they also launch the ball easily enabling women golfers to attempt each shot with confidence and as a result increasing enjoyment of the game.

The Sora Collection comes complete with a 9” SORA cart bag that is not only extremely functional with its seven large pockets and a detachable pouch that allows for easy access to essentials while on the course, but also looks great in the same striking color pattern that is shared by the shafts, grips and headcovers of the rest of the SORA collection.

“The unique needs of women golfers have been long overdue for some fresh thinking,” Couch. “The SORA collection is going to help women of all abilities play better, have more fun on the course, and look great while doing it.”

SORA™ irons and woods will be offered with Mizuno’s new SORA™ graphite shafts standard. Also standard on all SORA clubs will be the Winn SORA DSI womens grip. The suggested retail price of the SORA collection which comes complete with four woods, six irons, a mallet putter, and the 9” SORA cart bag is $850. Mizuno will begin shipping the SORA™ collection to accounts in September. The SORA™ collection will be offered in right-handed standard and petite models.
