37th Ryder Cup tickets available via free random online drawing

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — Golf fans interested in attending the 37th Ryder Cup at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky., are reminded that a random draw for tickets online at www.rydercup.com will be accepted through 11 p.m. ET, Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007.

The 37th Ryder Cup is Sept. 16-21, 2008, with The PGA of America again anticipating the demand for Ryder Cup tickets to far exceed its ability to accommodate all requests. Results of the random drawing will be announced by Nov. 1, 2007.

Weekly and daily tickets are available in the Random Draw, and prices vary. Applications for tickets can be accessed by:

1. Visiting www.RyderCup.com, and completing an application online.
2. Obtain a paper copy of the application by calling 1-800-PGA-GOLF.

Ryder Cup License Plate Program
Kentucky sports fans have until Sunday, Sept. 30, to complete applications to participate in the first Ryder Cup License Plate Program. The proceeds would benefit The First Tee of Kentucky as well as establish the state as the first to issue an official license plate celebrating one of golf's most compelling events.

The Commonwealth of Kentucky requires a minimum of 900 individuals to register for license plates, and must complete an application and submit payment to the Kentucky Sports Authority by Sept. 30. The specialty plate is $38. For every plate purchased, $10 would benefit The First Tee of Kentucky, which has four statewide chapters dedicated to providing youngsters of all backgrounds an opportunity to develop through golf and character education, and through life-enhancing values such as honesty, integrity and sportsmanship.

The Captains' Celebration
Limited tickets remain to join in a special evening with United States Ryder Cup Captain Paul Azinger and European Captain Nick Faldo, Monday, Oct. 22, at The Kentucky Center in Louisville. The evening kicks off with a reception at 6:15 p.m. NBC Sports commentator Jimmy Roberts will interview the Captains in the Bomhard Theater at 7:45 p.m.

Ticket proceeds will benefit The Louisville Urban Golf Program, Down Syndrome of Louisville, The Children's Hospital Foundation, supporting Kosair Children's Hospital and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana.
