EDMONTON, Alberta -- A Canadian golf teaching professional has launched a new line of fashion belt buckles that professional golfers on several tours are quickly integrating into their wardrobe.
59 Belts, found at www.59Belts.com, provides golfers with stylish buckles whose design allows them to be interchangeable with a wide variety of belts. The buckles are milled to precise specifications from solid 303 stainless steel plates and other metals. They are engraved with logos and images that create a striking look that perfectly complements the clothing styles popular among today’s professional and amateur golfers.
“My main goal is to create buckles that are visually appealing, user friendly, and unique in design,” said Trevor Derrheim the creator of 59 Belts. “What we have allows the user to change belts from different colors as well as different widths with the pinch of a spring clip. The design also helps the buckle maintain a low profile against the body and does away with the fold-over snap belt. In the end this gives a much cleaner look as the belt begins and ends under the buckle.”
59 Belts offers a range of images including the Canadian Maple Leaf, the Union Jack, as well as the United States and Korean flags. 59 Belts also offers to create customized designs for clients and will also engrave the back of the pieces to further personalize the buckles.
During this week’s 2007 CN Canadian Women's Open, several players, including World #1 Lorena Ochoa, and Canadians A.J. Eathorne and Lori Kane, will wear the Maple Leaf design.
Derrheim said he began 59 Belts after noticing a fashion gap created by the growth of new performance styles and fabrics among professional and amateur golfers. “The problem was that you couldn’t, with any fashion sense, wear the cotton-era belt with the fashion-forward micro-fiber pants and shirts favored by today’s players,” Derrheim said. “Our buckles solve that problem and offer golfers both style and functionality that fits with their contemporary fashion sense.
