Junior Players Championship prepares for play at TPC Sawgrass

BRASELTON, Ga. -- The PGA TOUR and American Junior Golf Association will combine efforts to stage the first-ever Junior PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., August 30 - September 2. The Junior PLAYERS Championship will bring the top 60 boys in the Polo Golf Rankings, along with 18 of the leading international players to TPC Sawgrass.

With THE PLAYERS Stadium Course as the event’s backdrop, participants will be tested at the same venue as the PGA TOUR PLAYERS Championship.

The event begins Thursday afternoon, August 30, when a select group of 24 juniors will be paired with amateur partners in a charity Junior–Am event. The 54-hole competition will be played Friday through Sunday with tee times running from 8 – 9:48 a.m. off the Nos. 1 and 10 tees.

A number of social activities will also take place in the new Mediterranean-revival style clubhouse that opened during THE PLAYERS in May. The host hotel to the event will be the Sawgrass Marriott Resort and Spa.
