Matthew Hall to fill District 11 seat of the PGA Board of Directors

Matthew Hall, PGA director of golf at the Turtle Bay Resort and President of the Aloha Section of The PGA of America, has been named to fill the District 11 seat of the PGA Board of Directors, representing the Aloha (Hawaii), Northern California, and Southern California PGA Sections. The position was vacated when Aloha PGA Section member Dennis Rose passed away in July of this year.

A 1997 graduate of the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGA/PGM™) program at New Mexico State University, Hall joined Mauna Kea Resort in Kamuela on the island of Hawaii in August of that year as a PGA assistant golf professional. He has remained in the islands since.

In 2003 Hall moved to Oahu to join the Turtle Bay Resort, host of the Champions Tour's Turtle Bay Championship and the LPGA Tour's SBS Open at Turtle Bay.

Hall is a past recipient of several significant Aloha PGA Section awards, including 2001 PGA Assistant Golf Professional of the Year, 2004 Section Merchandiser of the Year/Resort Category, and 2006 Section Bill Strausbaugh Award. He was elected to the Aloha Section Board of Directors in 2002, becoming President in 2006.

Hall is also the co-founder of the North Shore Youth Athletic Foundation, and co-hosts a weekly golf radio show called "1420 Golf", which airs on Honolulu's ESPN Radio affiliate.
