HONOLULU, Hawaii -- Douglas Logan, currently the Director of Tour Operations for the Ladies Asian Golf Tour, has been named the new executive director of the Aloha Section of The PGA of America. The announcement was made this week by Matthew Hall, Director of Golf at the Turtle Bay Resort and President of the Aloha PGA Section.
“Doug brings many years of working with professional golf tours, sponsor relations, and the finance industry to our organization,” said Hall. “His extensive experience in business and professional golf, coupled with his love for the game provide him with all the skills necessary to work on our behalf to grow our Section.”
During the past 15 years, Logan has been involved at the highest levels of professional golf worldwide, most recently in Asia. In his current position, he has been responsible for all operational aspects of the tour, including planning and budgeting, recruiting and training, formulating and implementing tour policies and liaising with sponsors and media.
Logan will assume the position of executive director of the Aloha PGA on August 15. As the chief executive officer and administrator for the 250 member and apprentice section, among his responsibilities will be the coordination and oversight of all tournament programs, day-to-day operations including compliance with PGA policies and regulations, development and implementation of annual business plans and long range proposals, marketing and promotion, generating new revenue sources and sponsorship alliances.
The Aloha Section’s current executive director, Paul Sugimoto, announced his retirement after serving the organization for 16 years.
The Aloha Section PGA is one of 41 PGA Sections of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America. The PGA of America was founded in 1916 with the mission to promote interest, participation, enjoyment and involvement in the game of golf, establish and maintain standards of practice, and enhance the well being of golf professionals.
