Mukerjee, Agarwal, Kohli shine in RC Am-Am

KOLKATA – Dec. 20, 2004 – The trio of Joydeep Mukerjee, Aditya Agarwal and GS Kohli romped to a well-deserved win at the Am-Am event of the Royal Challenge RCGC Cup played at the par-72, Royal Calcutta Golf Club here. The tournament is part of the Royal Challenge Indian Golf Tour.

Dharma M was tied with Vikram Rana at a gross score of one-under 71 but the former nosed ahead courtesy a better back-nine card to claim the ‘Best Gross Score’ prize for the amateurs. The tournament was played on an Individual stableford format.

In keeping with a unique concept thought up by the sponsors Royal Challenge players in all handicap categories wee given the chance to take home a trophy. In handicap category 0-6 Arindam Nath triumphed with 39 stableford points. GS Kohli stole the honors in the 7-12 handicap category with 42 points while Kapil Sood won in the 13-18 handicap category with 46 points. Harvinder Singh returned 41 points to take home the winner’s trophy in the 19-24 handicap category.

The prizes were given away jointly by Priyatosh Chowdhury of Shaw Wallace, Ashit Luthra – IGU Council Member and Dr. Satwinder Singh, Director Golf Tournaments, Royal Calcutta Golf Club at a grand ceremony held later in the evening.
