26 major champions comprise field for 89th PGA Championship

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- Defending Champion Tiger Woods, who will attempt to complete another first in PGA Championship history – win back-to-back titles twice – heads a 26-member contingent of major champions at the 89th PGA Championship, Aug. 6-12, at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla.

Southern Hills will host a record fourth PGA Championship, challenging the world’s premier players on a demanding par-70 layout that has been extended to 7,131 yards. Overall, the 26 major champions have combined for 46 major titles.

Woods, whose 12 majors include PGA Championships in 1999, 2000 and last year, also is attempting to become the year’s first “veteran” to capture a major championship.
