The 2nd Annual Walters Cup Pro-Am combines a $10,000 pro-am purse with a $20,000 poker purse in an all-inclusive Las Vegas golf event for pros and amateurs to be played November 4-8, 2007, at Royal Links Golf Club, Bali Hai Golf Club, and Stallion Mountain Country Club.
High stakes golf and poker are two very popular Las Vegas attractions, and the 2007 Walters Cup Pro-Am brings to life both in an exciting, player-friendly Las Vegas golf event that includes four nights stay at the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino, and one round at each at Las Vegas golf courses Stallion Mountain Country Club, Royal Links Golf Club and Bali Hai Golf Club. A total of $30,000 will be given away through golf and poker payouts, and pros who play in the event will receive an appearance fee and a complimentary stay in Las Vegas. The amateur entry fee is only $1,995 and includes the golf, hotel, a $350 gift bag, parties, breakfast and lunch each tournament day, and transportation to and from the golf courses.
"The Walters Cup is one of our best and most exciting events of the year," says Bill Walters, Walters Golf CEO. "Our pro and amateur golfers really enjoy having two opportunities to cash in because if you have a bad day on the golf course you can make up for it at the poker table, or vice versa. And our dual format also allows the players an opportunity to enjoy true Las Vegas excitement from near sun up to well after sundown, and they are catered to like high rollers throughout their stay."
Last year contestants came from as far away as the Dominican Republic, represented 13 states and ranged in age from 30 to 65.

Royal Links Golf Club was created to pay tribute to the historic golf courses used in the British Open rotation, and the holes on the course include replicas of Troon’s Postage Stamp and the St. Andrews Road hole, among many others. Golf Magazine named Royal Links Golf Club a top 10 You Can Play in 1999.
Bali Hai Golf Club brings tropical, south pacific golf to the middle of the Las Vegas Strip, with holes decorated by Augusta-white sand, hundreds of majestic palm trees, and beautiful lakes and water features. The course was recognized by Golfweek Magazine as a Top 40 resort golf course, and is one of the most conveniently-located golf courses in Las Vegas.
Desert Pines Golf Club brings Pinehurst to the desert, with holes shadowed by mature pine trees and pine needles sprinkled throughout the areas just off the fairway. The course is also home to a two-tiered, lighted practice center. Golf Digest recognized the course as one of the best new upscale courses in the United States when it opened in 1996.
