The only national at-school after school golf enrichment program comes to Tucson courtesy of PGA golf pro Gilbert Moncada, Owner and Director of Total Golf Adventures of Tucson.
“We’re really excited to be able to provide for Tucson children, a safe, fun and educational environment”, Mr. Moncada recently stated at a press meeting. “As a father of three children myself, I am proud to be part of a growing movement to introduce golf to our youth”.
Total Golf Adventures ® (TGA) of Tucson’s mission is to provide Tucson’s youth with access into the game of golf through programs that build life values, instill confidence through achievement, and offer a fun and educational experience (www.tucson.totalgolfadventures.com).
So far, programs have begun in 20 elementary and middle schools in the Vail, Catalina Foothills, Sahuarita, and Tanque Verde School Districts. A variety of private and charter schools have also signed on.
“We are working to expand our program in the fall to include many more Tucson schools that have kindergarten through eight grade students” says PR Director Paul Bellows of Bellows Consulting. “What makes this program extra special is that the children learn golf on the school grounds using our clubs, equipment and “Almost” Golf Balls. Whether it’s held in the gym, playground, even the soccer field, TGA is flexible enough to adapt to almost any indoor or outdoor environment”.
TGA also has 8 summer camps going on around Tucson right now, including a scheduled one-week program to be held at the Chinese Cultural Center starting on Monday, July 30, 2007. Openings are still available. For more information about the after school programs or summer camps, contact Gilbert Moncada directly at (520) 909-2444. Or visit www.Tucson.TotalGolfAdventures.com.
