Dennis J. Rose, the District 11 Director for the Aloha, Northern California and Southern California PGA Sections of The PGA of America, died July 13 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Rose, the PGA director of golf and general manager of the Francis H. I'I Brown Golf Courses at the Mauna Lani Resort in Kamuela, Hawaii, was elected to the national PGA Board in November 2006.

A PGA member since 1975, Rose had previously served on the Aloha PGA Board of Directors since 1981 in virtually every capacity - President, Vice President and Secretary.
Rose, 59, was honored as the Aloha PGA Section Golf Professional of the Year in 1985 and 1993.
Rose is survived by his wife, Laura; two sons, David and Stephen; parents, Whitey and Rita Rose; and a sister, Patricia Jamesson.
A service will be held on July 21, at 2:00 p.m., at St. James Episcopal Church in Kamuela, Hawaii.
