Champ captures victories on both PGA and European PGA Tours

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. -- It was a tale to two continents this past weekend as CHAMP Spikes helped the champions on both the PGA and the European PGA Tour keep their footing en route to victories.

On the PGA Tour, it was a top South Korean golfer winning the inaugural AT&T National at Congressional. The winner wore CHAMP, and the industry’s only hybrid spike, the Pro Stinger™. The Pro Stinger provides unsurpassed traction with its metal center tip and cushion with the outer traction elements. The winner broke 70 in three of his four rounds on a very difficult course for his second title in five weeks.

In addition to wearing CHAMP spikes, the winner of the tournament was also wearing shoes that were equipped with CHAMP’s patented Q-LOK® system. Q-LOK is the most widely accepted threadless cleat changing system available. It is the industry’s quickest and easiest receptacle system to use as spikes can be removed and replaced with just ¼ of a turn of the wrench.

In Ireland, at The K Club, the Smurfit Kappa European Open winner chose the CHAMP Scorpion Stinger™. The Scotsman, who set the record for European Tour titles with his 31st crown, closed with final round a five under-par 65. The champion finished an 11 under 269 on the weekend. Overall, 113 players in the field of 156 chose the CHAMP brand. CHAMP dominated the leader board as eight of the top ten finishers chose CHAMP, with six of those selecting the Stinger.

“This is shaping up to be a historic year for us,” said Harris MacNeill, President of CHAMP. “Not only are players who wear CHAMP sticking with our spikes, but many players are switching to our spikes. We offer such a variety of spikes that any player can find something in our product line to enhance their play. That is why CHAMP continues to be the number one spike brand on tour.”
