The LPGA Tour heads to Clifton, N.J., this week for the Sybase Classic Presented by ShopRite, held May 17-20 at Upper Montclair Country Club.
World No.1 Lorena Ochoa will try to become the first LPGA Tour player to successfully defend a title this season. Last year's Sybase Classic was Ochoa's second win of 2006, a two stroke victory over then rookie Kyeong Bae and 2003 champion Hee-Won Han.
This week, seven of the top-10 money winners of 2007 will compete for the $210,000 winner's check at the par-72, 6,433-yard Upper Mountclair Country Club. A win would give Ochoa her second victory of the season and make her the fastest player in tour history to surpass $7 million in career earnings.
New York-native Meaghan Francella, who earned her first tour victory in March at the MasterCard Classic Honoring Alejo Peralta, will be the hometown favorite. She'll face stiff competition from Kraft Nabisco champion Morgan Pressel and Brittany Lincicome, who won the Ginn Open last month.
With those wins, Pressel and Lincicome automatically qualified for the ADT Championship through the LPGA Playoffs 2007. Suzann Pettersen has also earned a spot in the event with her victory at last weekend's Michelob Ultra Open at Kingsmill. She became the first Norwegian to win a tour event.
Annika Sorenstam, who is sidelined with a back injury, will not play this week.

It was anything but as the seemingly imperturbable Scot struggled to hit a fairway throughout the final round and was only rescued by some superb recovery shots and a bunch of astonishing long putts.
