Club Campestre San Jose is the most affordable Nicklaus course in the area, mainly due to its lack of ocean-front property. That said, strategic routing and the premier conditioning more than make up for the loss of the beach.
The golf courses of southwest counties Clare and Kerry make for Ireland's most popular golf tour and with good reason. Visitors receive a warm, Irish welcome no matter which little seaside village or town they're in, and some of the world's most coveted links land at your disposal. Among these links is a mix of old and new, Brandon Tucker writes.
What Cyprus lacks in number of golf courses it comfortably makes up in many other ways. Tagged "the island for all seasons," it's famous for the warmth of its Mediterranean sun; the breathtaking coastline; history and culture that stretches back over 10,000 years; a whole range of recreational activities in addition to golf; wonderful cuisine and wine; and, finally, the exuberant friendliness of its people.
New Mexico doesn't get the love that Arizona receives from traveling golfers - and that just doesn't make sense, Jason Scott Deegan writes. Eight quality courses comprise the Santa Fe Golf Trail, ranging from friendly resort tracks to treacherous mountain courses and challenging desert layouts that host national championships. Private in name only, Scotland's Prestwick Club is an anachronistic preserve of egalitarian golf and dining. Beyond the traditionally quirky links golf, Prestwick's clubhouse - one of the oldest in existence - welcomes visitors as if they were regulars, and provides as memorable a meal as you're ever likely to have. The only requirements for admission are a coat, a tie, and an appetite for good conversation.
