GOLF HISTORY
The Masters: Golf's most storied championship
Every year in early April, the world's best golfers tee it up at Augusta National in Georgia for The Masters, the first major golf tournament of the year.
Though the youngest of golf's four majors, to many The Masters is the most prestigious - and it is unique in that it is the only major that is played in the same place annually. Augusta National's landmarks - Amen Corner, Hogan Bridge, Rae's Creek, the Eisenhower Tree - are as well known as its golf holes, many of which were re-designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones more than 50 years ago.
